A Good Weekend

Salamu`Alaykum

I’ve been a bit busy with university and therefore have been unable to update my blog for the past few weeks. I have a number of partially translated fatawa and other enlightening pieces that will be presented soon, Insha’Allah.

Just a quick update: I had an extremely wonderful weekend. I got the chance to meet Mufti Saeed Palanpuri of Deoband, who was the individual seen teaching in “A Deobandi Classroom” (see: previous post). I managed to pray side by side with him twice, alhamdulilah, and also to sit face to face with him with no more than a hand-span between us. He spoke in lengtt, during his two sessions, regarding the moonsighting issue as well as ijtihad and taqlid.

I also had the opportunity to meet Shaykh Faraz, who is currently visiting New York, on Friday, Saturday (I had dinner with him) and Sunday. He is currently on tour across North America so be sure to check out his schedule and attend! I’ll see if i remember enough to update more on the specifics of our meeting.

  6. as-salamu’alaikum Ya Sidi,

Now it was excellent to meet you this weekend, but I must make the point that you ate nothing at dinner 🙂

  7. Salamu `Alaykum

Sidi Yursil, i drank a Hawain punch though 😉

  8. Asalamualaikum, Br Salman, I know you’ve been busy… but you still OWE me an email! 🙂

  9. salman is such a Allah wala that he rarely eats in the company of Ulama. Even when they insist that the food is not there for tabarruk purposes.

    Off topic:

Most urdu Naats and Hamds on the web are just not good. Are there any sites where I can download something good?

I have junaid jamshed’s new album
Mehboob e yazdaan which is really nice. I like it

Also talib al habeeb’s songs of innocence is nice
and he has a new video for that too

  12. Abdullah

Talib al Habib seems to be only in english while I am looking for urdu.

Personally I don’t like Junaid jamshed’s yazdaan. It lacks simplicity.

please let me know is there are any good _urdu_ naats and nasheeds for download.

    Salaam ‘alaikum,

It was an honor to meet you this weekend, Sidi.

  14. Salamu `Alaykum

Sidi Alex, the feeling is mutual.

  15. Taskiyyah, do you know where I can check out that Talib al Habib video? Can you link it, or upload it?

    Salam.

    A question for molvi Salman.

    A barelwi imam starts his dua in this manner;

“Ya Allah karam kar Mustafa ke waste.
Ya Mustafa karam kar Allah ke waste”

Is this ok? Is it ok to pray behind him?

For some reason I just can’t get clarity on such issues…

Or is it that no one has clarity?

  18. Salamu `Alaykum

I dont know. Ask a scholar like Shaykh Faraz, or if you have a murshid follow what he says.

    Diplomacy?

Do you, your Shaykh db or Deobandi akabir ra say such and encourage people to do so?

  20. Salamu `Alaykum

    Sidi Basair:

Yes, we encourage people to seek out righteous `ulema for their questions and to follow those accompolished on the spiritual path.

    Wasalam

  21. Abdullah

    Sunnipath is closed for questions.

Can someone here who has “connections” help me find the answer?
